Overview
- Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved shrimp estates spanning 5,600 acres in Sargodha and Alipur under the province’s aquaculture plan.
- The 15th daily progress report notes nine ponds completed on 20 acres in Sargodha, 5,320 meters of drainage finished, and a survey done for a further 10 acres.
- Site development is expanding with a 124-acre estate at Chak No. 58 near Sargodha where 57 ponds have been excavated, while 2,507 acres have been leveled in Muzaffargarh with 57 ponds prepared.
- Quality and research facilities are near operational readiness, with the Lahore laboratory 99% complete and the Muzaffargarh lab 98% complete.
- Capacity building includes specialist training in Saudi Arabia and Mexico, visits by international experts Jeffrey and Jamie Dominguez, installation of 32 tube wells and eight transformers, and shrimp seed released into 64 research ponds.
