Punjab Police Seizes 30 Kg Heroin, Disrupts Cross-Border Smuggling Network

A major operation in Amritsar led to the arrest of a smuggler and the discovery of heroin transported via drones from Pakistan.

Punjab Police arrested Gursimranjit Singh, a resident of Amritsar, for smuggling 30 kg of heroin concealed in his car.
The heroin, packed in four packets weighing 7.5 kg each, was seized during a routine vehicle check based on intelligence inputs.
Authorities revealed that the drugs were transported from Pakistan using drones, marking the largest heroin seizure in Punjab so far this year.
The smuggler was reportedly involved in large-scale narcotics trafficking and was en route to deliver the consignment when apprehended.
An investigation is underway to trace the origin of the smuggling network and identify additional individuals involved.
