Punjab Police Dismisses Six Trainee Constables for Failing Drug Tests, Detains ‘Insta Queen’ Constable in Asset Probe

The state’s Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign has logged 13,449 drug-smuggler arrests in 85 days.

  • On May 24, six trainees from batch no. 270 at the Hoshiarpur Recruit Training Centre were dismissed after civil hospital dope tests on May 21 confirmed drug use.
  • The dismissed recruits included three from Patiala, two from Tarn Taran and one from Ludhiana and district police were instructed to oversee their de-addiction and prevent peer influence.
  • Constable Amandeep Kaur, known as ‘Insta Queen’, was arrested last month in Bathinda for possessing 17 grams of drugs and removed from service.
  • On May 26 the Punjab Vigilance Bureau took Amandeep into custody in Muktsar district for allegedly amassing roughly ₹31 lakh beyond her declared income between 2018 and 2025.
