Overview
- The Punjab Transport Department revised intercity bus fares following federal cuts to petrol by Rs10.28 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs8.57 per litre effective January 1.
- Fare reductions range from roughly Rs60 to Rs200 depending on the route, covering travel from Lahore to major cities across Punjab and beyond.
- Updated examples include Lahore–Islamabad reduced from Rs1,910 to Rs1,850, Lahore–Murree to Rs2,290, and Lahore–Peshawar to Rs2,530.
- Long-haul routes also fell, with Lahore–Karachi down from Rs5,800 to Rs5,620 and Lahore–Sukkur from Rs3,510 to Rs3,400.
- Transporters have been ordered to display the new fare lists prominently, with the RTA warning of action against operators who fail to comply.
