Overview

  • Launched on May 26 in Mohali by CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Easy Registry lets citizens register property at any sub-registrar office within their district.
  • The system offers online pre-scrutiny of documents, a unified payment gateway for stamp duty and fees, and real-time WhatsApp notifications through every stage.
  • Sale deed registrations will be completed within 48 hours, and a ‘Draft My Deed’ feature enables users to prepare their own deeds without hiring private writers.
  • Citizens can arrange doorstep collection of documents via Seva Sahayaks and report any bribe demands directly on WhatsApp for district collector intervention.
  • During a surprise May 27 visit to the Mohali sub-registrar office, Mann reviewed initial performance as the scheme moves toward district rollout by July 15 and full implementation on August 1.
