Punjab Finalizes Large Security and Civic Plans for Eid Milad Processions
Officials say detailed, large-scale deployments will protect worshippers during mass processions.

- Authorities finalized plans on Saturday and said Lahore will deploy 7,000 police officers for processions on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal and host 71 major processions across the division.
- The Lahore plan assigns 3,000 Civil Defence volunteers to procession routes and places Rescue 1122 ambulances and motorbike ambulances on standby for rapid medical response.
- Regional police in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan disclosed a 2,631-person deployment for 195 Milad programs that includes a rank-level breakdown and district allocations of 601, 575 and 1,455 officers respectively.
- Civic and traffic work has been completed or is underway, with patchwork on routes, streetlight restoration, traffic and parking plans, operational control rooms and involvement from municipal services such as the Lahore Waste Management Company.
- Officials said special contingents will secure sensitive points and that coordination with Ulema and peace committees aims to protect lives and property while allowing orderly observance; residents should expect route restrictions and active security checkpoints during processions.
