Overview

• Since March 1, the ’Yudh Nashian Virudh’ drive has registered 9,580 NDPS cases and arrested 16,348 smugglers and peddlers
• Punjab Police recovered 622 kg of heroin, 14,976 kg of poppy husk, 252 kg of opium, 264 kg of ganja and 2,649,847 narcotic pills
• Properties of 118 alleged traffickers have been demolished under strict action measures
• The government added 1,000 beds in public de-addiction centres with plans to secure up to 1,000 more from private facilities
• A panel has hired 200 temporary psychologists and directed the Health Department to submit a full recruitment proposal within a week
