Punjab Announces ₹45.84 Crore Revamp for Sarabha Village on Martyrdom Anniversary

  • Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann unveiled projects totaling ₹45.84 crore during a state-level event in Kartar Singh Sarabha’s native village.
  • ₹40 crore will fund four-laning from Lalto Kalan through Sarabha, Raikot and Halwara to provide direct connectivity to Halwara Airport.
  • A ₹2.82 crore surface water supply scheme was announced to improve access to clean drinking water in the village.
  • Sports allocations include ₹2 crore for a 10-metre indoor shooting range, ₹10 lakh to renovate the basketball court, ₹3 lakh for a volleyball court with benches, and ₹89 lakh to modernise the forest nursery.
  • A security and police training academy will be established in the village, featuring a derelict MiG-21 from the Air Force Academy for pilot and drone training, as Mann also paid tributes and visited Sarabha’s ancestral home.
