• On July 15, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Prashant Kumar Singh’s elevation as Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
• Puneet Kumar Goel, a 1991-batch AGMUT-cadre IAS officer, took charge as Manipur Chief Secretary on July 16 with a tenure through August 31, 2025.
• Goel’s inter-cadre deputation from AGMUT to Manipur was sanctioned to reinforce administrative leadership under President’s Rule.
• The move is intended to support peace restoration by expediting rehabilitation and repatriation of around 60,000 people displaced since May 2023.
