Overview

  • The Pune traffic police installed four Sensei AI–powered cameras on May 28 to automatically detect violations on Fergusson College Road.
  • The system flags illegal parking, double parking, wrong-side driving and vehicles obstructing traffic for more than three minutes.
  • AI algorithms process live feeds in real time and send alerts to the control room for immediate e-challan issuance.
  • Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the project aims to boost road discipline, reduce manual workload and minimize conflict with the public.
  • Officials will review data from the 90-day proof-of-concept before deciding on a broader rollout across Pune.
