Pune Toddler Rescued in Ludhiana After Alleged Abduction by Neighbouring Couple

Technical surveillance helped police trace the babysitters to Punjab for a safe recovery.

  • The boy disappeared on September 12 from Ranjangaon MIDC after his mother left him with neighbours who often babysat him, and she filed a kidnapping complaint on September 15.

  • The arrested suspects are Poojadevi alias Vanita Arjun Yadav, 37, and her husband Arjunkumar (Arjun) Yadav, 36, residents of Ranjangaon with roots in Bihar.
  • Investigators say the couple confessed they abducted the child because they are unable to have children and had grown attached to him.
  • The child was reunited with his mother, and the couple were remanded to police custody as officers continue to map their movements and contacts.
