Overview
- The Additional Town Planning Officer published the draft on Friday, triggering a 60-day window for suggestions and objections.
- The plan covers about 5,500 hectares across Lohegaon, Mundhwa, Hadapsar’s Sade Satra Nali, Shivne, Ambegaon Khurd, parts of Undri and Dhayari, and Ambegaon Budruk, with population projected to rise from six lakh to 8.1 lakh by 2035.
- Land use includes 42% for housing, 15% for roads, and 8% for public amenities, with reservations of 41 hectares for schools, 18 for hospitals, 74 for sports grounds, and 88.12 for gardens.
- A new ‘Sponge Garden’ reservation around lakes and other water bodies is proposed to reduce flooding and naturally recharge groundwater, according to PMC City Engineer Prashant Waghmare.
