Pune Police Split Bopodi and Mundhwa Probes, Say Amadea Link Is Only to Mundhwa

Police attribute the confusion to a single Khadak FIR that combined the Bopodi with the Mundhwa dispute.

Overview

  • Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Masal said Shital Tejwani and Digvijay Patil are accused only in the Mundhwa matter and are not linked to the Bopodi case.
  • Officers said a Khadak police FIR had bundled two separate parcels, and a separate FIR for the Mundhwa parcel is now registered at Bavdhan naming Patil, Tejwani and suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Taru.
  • Suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale is named in both matters for allegedly issuing wrongful orders tied to each parcel.
  • The Bopodi case alleges encroachment and misuse of 5.32 hectares of Maharashtra Agriculture Department land and names other accused including builder Hemant Gavande, who denies the charges and any link to Amadea.
  • Pimpri-Chinchwad police reportedly searched Tejwani’s Koregaon Park residence and seized documents related to the Mundhwa deal, a development the EOW has not confirmed.
