Overview
- Sound-emitting firecrackers are prohibited from 10 pm to 6 am, with only light-effects allowed during those hours.
- Crackers exceeding 125 decibels at four metres are banned, and garland-type ladis must stay within 110 dB (50–100) or 105 dB (over 100).
- String-wrapped ‘atom bomb’ crackers are outlawed under Maharashtra Arms Rules due to safety risks.
- Bursting on public roads or within 10 metres of them is barred, with a 100-metre no-cracker radius around hospitals, courts and schools.
- Foreign-made firecrackers are prohibited per PESO guidance, and unsold stock after the Oct 20–24 sales window must be returned to traders with permanent permits.
