Pune Police Destroys 788 kg of Seized Narcotics Worth ₹7.76 Crore

- A total of 788.954 kg of narcotics, including ganja, mephedrone, cocaine, LSD, and heroin, were incinerated at Maharashtra Enviro Power Ltd. in Ranjangaon MIDC.
- The drugs, valued at ₹7.76 crore, were confiscated in 57 NDPS cases across nine police stations in Pune over the past year.
- The destruction process was supervised by a Drug Disposal Committee and involved officials from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, State Excise Department, and forensic experts.
- Before disposal, the narcotics were weighed and verified at Pune Police headquarters in Shivajinagar to ensure transparency.
- Preparations are in the final stages for the destruction of a record-breaking 1,800 kg haul of mephedrone worth ₹3,700 crore, seized in February 2024.
