Pune Police Destroy Seized Drugs Worth ₹1.75 Crore at Ranjangaon

Police executed the disposal under a formal committee process at an industrial furnace in Ranjangaon.

  • The contraband was tied to 32 NDPS Act cases registered across five police stations: Khadak, Faraskhana, Deccan, Kondhwa and Lonikalbhor.
  • The haul included 217.788 kg of cannabis, 404.433 g of charas, 120.121 g of cocaine, 198.261 g of mephedrone, 78 g of methamphetamine, 115.280 g of heroin, MDMA, opium plants and other items, with a total estimated value of ₹1,75,06,580.
  • Destruction took place at the MEPL company furnace in Ranjangaon following prescribed procedures for seized narcotics.
  • A police committee oversaw the process under the guidance of senior officials including Additional CP (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh, DCP (Crime) Nikhil Pingale, DCP (Headquarters) Rajalakshmi Shivanakar and ACP Vijay Kumbhar.
  • DCP Nikhil Pingale said the illegal narcotics trade is a serious crime and warned that dedicated teams will continue action against such activities.
