  • Pune Metro has issued a work order for 15 new three-coach trains and 45 additional coaches, raising the fleet to 49 trains (147 coaches) from the current 34 trains (102 coaches).
  • Deliveries are expected within two years, aligning the rolling stock upgrade with a full commissioning of the Phase 2 corridors by 2029.
  • The Union Cabinet approved two elevated Phase 2 routes covering 12.75 km with 13 stations between Vanaz–Chandani Chowk and Ramwadi–Wagholi at a cost of ₹3,626.24 crore.
  • The ₹3,626.24 crore project will be co-financed equally by the central government, the Government of Maharashtra and external agencies.
