Pune Metro Extends Ganeshotsav Hours to 2 a.m., Plans 41-Hour Run on Anant Chaturdashi

The move targets festival crowds by shifting travel from clogged central roads.

Overview

  • Services will run 6am–11pm on August 27–29, 6am–2am on August 30–September 5, and nonstop from 6am on September 6 to 11pm on September 7, with regular timings resuming September 8.
  • Pune Metro will add trips during the festival period to accommodate higher passenger demand.
  • The underground District Court–Swargate section will be in use for the first time during Ganeshotsav to reach central mandals.
  • Stations at District Court, Kasba Peth, Mandai and Swargate lie near major mandals, offering a way to bypass road traffic and closures.
  • Authorities have urged devotees to use the metro to ease congestion and support safer festival travel.
