Pune IT Engineer Arrested for Murdering 3-Year-Old Son Over Suspicions of Wife’s Infidelity

Madhav Teketi confessed to the premeditated killing of his son Himmat, citing doubts about his wife’s fidelity and the child’s paternity as motives.

Madhav Teketi, a 38-year-old IT engineer, murdered his son Himmat by slitting his throat in a forested area near Pune’s Chandan Nagar on March 20, 2025.
The crime was premeditated, with Teketi purchasing a knife and blade before the act, and later misleading police while under the influence of alcohol.
Police tracked Teketi using CCTV footage showing him leaving with his son but returning alone, and mobile data led them to a lodge where he was found intoxicated.
Teketi confessed during interrogation and directed police to the crime scene, where the child’s body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination.
The murder stemmed from Teketi’s suspicions about his wife’s fidelity and doubts about his son’s paternity; legal proceedings and further investigations are ongoing.
