Pune Court Rejects Rahul Gandhi’s Plea for Savarkar Plaintiff’s Maternal Lineage

The magistrate ruled that the defamation case rests on Gandhi’s London speech and not on the complainant’s family history.

The judge noted that Gandhi had been granted bail with a permanent exemption from personal appearance and there was no evidence to suggest that he was deliberately delaying the proceedings. (HT)
