Pune Civic Body Orders 30-Metre Road Plan To Open Alternate Access To Pune Airport

Overview

After a site inspection, Additional Municipal Commissioner Omprakash Diwate directed a revised Section 37 proposal for a 30-metre road between Puru Society and the Sabha Mandap plot to add a new approach to Pune International Airport.
Departments were told to confirm acquisitions and demarcate land from 509 Chowk to Puru Society, then file updated maps for approval and public objections.
The Nagpur Chawl–509 Chowk segment will be widened by one to two metres where space allows, with existing trees preserved through transplantation.
Officials ordered immediate operationalisation of a CSR-created Nukkad hawker zone with space allocation and encroachment control to keep the corridor clear.
Design and funding steps include a revised concept plan from the architect, beautification backed by developer Atul Chordia’s CSR, and potential use of savings from delayed PPP road projects.
