Overview

  • The Integrated Command and Control Centre is now operational, linking feeds from 432 Smart City cameras, around 3,000 Pune Metro cameras, as well as bus stops and malls, with private CCTV mapping under way.
  • An AI-enabled CCTV system featuring night vision and 360° coverage has gone live at Bopdev Ghat and will extend to 22 identified hill ‘black spots’, with instant alerts and mandated repairs within 24 hours.
  • Five mobile surveillance vehicles equipped with drones and AI analytics have been inducted as mini control rooms to bolster rapid response in remote and secluded areas.
  • The state government approved five new police stations in Lohgaon, Laxminagar, Narhe, Manjri and Yewalewadi alongside the sanctioning of 1,000 additional personnel to strengthen Pune’s police force.
  • Officials unveiled plans for a satellite-based Integrated Traffic Management System to link citywide traffic signals using AI and improve congestion management as part of a ₹1,100 crore police modernization drive.
