Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Pouches Recalled Over Possible Soft Plastic

The company says a packaging supplier defect may have left soft, food-grade plastic strands inside some banana and strawberry 4 oz. pouches, and consumers are told to discard or return affected items.

Overview

  • PT Organics of Lake Oswego, Oregon issued a voluntary recall that the FDA posted after finding a strand of soft, food-grade plastic inside a small number of finished Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics banana and strawberry 4 oz. pouches.
  • The action follows a packaging supplier recall of defective pouches and further inspection that linked the problem to lane number 4 on the package seam.
  • The recall covers pouches sold exclusively at Kroger, Meijer and Target between March 6 and July 13 and is limited to Barcode 8 15367 01078 0 with best-before dates of 01/19/2027, 01/20/2027, 03/17/2027, 03/18/2027, 05/14/2027, and 05/15/2027.
  • No injuries have been reported so far and the company says no other Pumpkin Tree flavors, sizes or best-before dates are affected.
  • Consumers who have the listed pouches should check the UPC and date and then discard the product or return it to the store for a refund, and retailers may contact customers directly if they can match purchases.
