Overview

• Police say they responded around 8 a.m. to a reported strong-arm robbery in the 1100 block of Bonforte Boulevard.
• Officers located a matching vehicle near East Eighth Street and North Glendale Avenue, and the pursuit ended in a crash in the 700 block of West 8th Street.
• After the crash, the man produced a knife, ignored repeated commands to drop it, and was shot; he then stabbed himself before officers used Tasers and disarmed him.
• Multiple officers rendered first aid and EMS transported the man to a hospital, where he later died, according to the Pueblo Police Department.
• The 10th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is activated with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office leading the probe, and the acting Fremont County Coroner will identify the man and later determine cause and manner of death.
