  • Puducherry’s Intermediate Reference Laboratory secured the top national ranking and can process up to 1.2 lakh molecular tests annually for the UT and neighbouring regions.
  • By Q1 2025 all presumptive TB cases have received upfront NAAT, pushing the testing rate to 5,268 per lakh population—a 136 percent rise since 2015.
  • Door-to-door active case finding mapped 374,281 vulnerable individuals and screened 380,000 residents, surpassing the 102 percent target under the National TB Elimination Programme.
  • Medical students in the Family Adoption Programme now conduct household TB screenings and verbal autopsies for 160 deaths to identify delays in care and system gaps.
  • In 2025 Puducherry declared eight villages TB-free, marking key milestones as the UT drives down incidence and moves toward early elimination goals.
