Public Sector Marks Vigilance Awareness Week With Integrity Pledges

The one-week drive is meant to strengthen transparency through preventive workshops, community outreach and leadership-led accountability measures.

Overview

  • Northeast Frontier Railway, which launched its Vigilance Awareness Week on Monday, opened the observance with an Integrity Pledge, walkathons and the inauguration of the “Lachit Borphukan” sports complex at Maligaon.
  • Major public-sector bodies including IndianOil, PNB, NTPC and Modern Coach Factory held inaugural ceremonies where senior officials read national leaders’ messages and administered the Integrity Pledge to staff.
  • South Central Railway and Bharat Dynamics Limited ran a village outreach programme at Kanakamamidi that featured a Telugu skit, awareness banners, a walkathon and public pledge-taking to engage local residents.
  • NFR’s week will continue with a street play on October 27, release of a Vigilance Bulletin on October 28, essay and drawing contests for students on October 29–30 and a workshop on preventive vigilance in contract management.
  • Held under the Central Vigilance Commission theme “Probity for Prosperity,” the coordinated activities aim to pair operational steps—like contract‑management workshops and vigilance bulletins—with public education to reduce irregularities and boost trust in public institutions.
