PSOE Baron García-Page Urges General Election Over Government Blockade

The Castilla-La Mancha leader cites three years without approved budgets to argue the government cannot function.

Overview

  • In an Onda Cero interview from Poland, Emiliano García-Page said Parliament’s blockage of about €10 billion in EU funds shows the executive cannot advance its agenda.
  • He argued new budget pledges lack credibility after repeated failures to secure General State Budgets.
  • García-Page said Vox is registering a volatile uptick that cuts into the PP’s support and advised the PP not to bring forward regional elections if it hopes to govern without Vox.
  • Speaking on regional priorities, he defended Castilla-La Mancha’s water model, urged desalination over the Tajo-Segura transfer, and cautioned against trimming cohesion funds such as the CAP to bolster Defence spending.
  • Separately in Poland, he warned he will seek enforcement of court rulings on Tajo ecological flows, requested a meeting with minister Sara Aagesen, and said tougher steps will follow if no solution emerges.
