PSLV-C62 Lifts Off With DRDO’s EOS-N1 as ISRO Probes Post–Third-Stage Anomaly

ISRO reports a post–third-stage issue with trajectory deviation, with a flight-data review now underway.

Overview

  • India’s PSLV-C62 launched at about 10:18 am IST from Sriharikota carrying EOS-N1 (Anvesha) and multiple co-passenger payloads on a commercial rideshare managed by NSIL.
  • ISRO said disturbances occurred at the end of third-stage separation and the vehicle deviated from the planned path, and officials are analysing telemetry to determine mission outcome.
  • The mission plan called for deploying the payloads into a sun-synchronous orbit followed by a PS4 restart to de-boost and demonstrate re-entry of the Spanish KID capsule into the South Pacific.
  • Co-passengers included technology demonstrators such as OrbitAID’s AayulSAT for on-orbit refuelling and MOI-1 with the MIRA mini telescope for AI-based in-orbit image processing.
  • The flight marks the PSLV’s return after the May 2025 C61 setback linked to third-stage pressure loss, using the PSLV-DL variant in what is the launcher’s 64th mission.
