PS5 Update Brings Back Popular PS4 Feature, Adds New Enhancements

The beta update, currently exclusive to the U.S., reintroduces dynamic backgrounds and improves the Explore tab.

Sony is rolling out a new PS5 update that reintroduces the ability to change the console's wallpaper, a feature highly requested by fans since the PS4 era.
The update, currently in beta and available only in the United States, also enhances the Explore tab with new functionalities like displaying storage status and DualSense controller battery life.
While the update brings back the option for dynamic backgrounds, it does not yet include the full range of PS4 themes for the PS5 dashboard.
Additional features revealed include widgets for friend activities, a focus on single-player or multiplayer content, and the ability to see PS Store wishlist and news from PlayStation.
The PS5 update is part of Sony's ongoing efforts to improve the user interface and overall experience, with more features expected to be announced soon.
