Overview
- ProSiebenSat.1 has signed a region-wide licensing agreement with Paramount Global Content Licensing that covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland and supplies content to the group’s free-TV channels and the Joyn streaming service.
- The agreement includes exclusive first-run rights for selected series, notably NCIS: Origins season 3 and FBI: International, while release dates for the DACH region have not yet been announced.
- Paramount is providing a large library package of 1,372 episodes from established series such as Beverly Hills, 90210; The Good Wife; Elementary; Scorpion; Bull; and Blue Bloods to broaden immediate programming options.
- Joyn’s children’s and seasonal offerings will expand with about 1,200 Nickelodeon episodes and 26 Halloween horror films, including titles from the Hellraiser and Friday the 13th franchises.
- Reporters say Mark Harmon is expected to return in NCIS: Origins season 3, and the deal signals Joyn’s strategy of using exclusive premieres plus big licensed catalogs to grow viewership across ad-supported streaming and linear free-TV while rollout timing remains the key item to watch.
