  • Forensic breakthroughs, including DNA found on the victim's belongings and TikTok videos, led to Montilla's arrest in May 2024, nearly two years after the crime.
  • The prosecution has also requested a ban on Montilla's residency or communication with the victim's family and monetary compensation of €99,800 each for the parents and €28,500 for the sister.
  • Montilla, previously convicted of four murders in the 1980s and released in 2013 after serving 30 years, is also under investigation for the 2023 disappearance and murder of Ester Estepa.
