Overview
- A man drove a car through a busy pedestrian zone in central Leipzig in early May, killing two people and injuring several others.
- The victims who died were a 63-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man and the wounded ranged in age from 21 to 87 with some reported seriously injured.
- Prosecutors have charged the then-33-year-old with two counts of murder, attempted murder in 85 cases, severe dangerous interference in road traffic in 91 cases, and eight counts of dangerous bodily harm.
