Prosecutors Charge Repeat Offender in Milwaukee Street-Racing Hit-and-Run That Killed EMT

Court filings say Dayton Milligan was traveling about 106 mph seconds before the collision.

Overview

  • EMT Meng Kue, 34, was killed Jan. 15 at N. 76th Street and W. Glendale Avenue in Milwaukee’s Lindsay Park neighborhood as he drove home from work.
  • Dayton Steven Milligan faces counts including first-degree reckless homicide and hit-and-run resulting in death, with habitual-criminal enhancers that could bring a life sentence if he is convicted.
  • Prosecutors allege Milligan was racing two other vehicles when the crash occurred, and they say Earl Thomas Gordon picked him up at the scene and drove away.
  • Gordon is charged with hit-and-run resulting in death as a party to a crime and with aiding or harboring a felon, exposing him to more than 30 years if convicted.
  • Investigators cite a witness account of three vehicles racing and evidence recovered from a black pickup to identify Milligan, who previously was convicted in a deadly hit-and-run and was on supervision; Bell Ambulance publicly honored Kue in a statement.
