Prosecutor Orders Forensic Review of Milei Siblings’ Phones in $Libra Investigation

A court‑directed sweep will seek evidence of contacts or payments tied to the $Libra promotion using messages, media, locations, wallet apps and a targeted keyword list.

Overview

  • Federal prosecutor Eduardo Taiano directed the national forensic unit to analyze the seized phones of President Javier Milei and his sister, Karina, in the $Libra case.
  • Investigators already extracted the devices’ data after the March 6 seizures, and the review covers thirteen lines registered to the president and one to Karina Milei, plus adviser Sergio Morales’s phone.
  • The scope includes WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and social platforms, photos, deleted material, browser history, geolocation, and checks for wallet apps such as Phantom and Solflare.
  • Technicians will run a 74‑term keyword search (including “cripto,” “$libra,” “pump and dump,” “Casa Rosada,” “Binance” and “Kraken”) to map communications and potential financial activity.
  • The probe seeks to establish any messages or payments involving the Mileis or Morales and $Libra promoters Hayden Davis, Mauricio Novelli and Manuel Terrones Godoy, with other crypto figures also listed, as possible offenses under review include abuse of authority, fraud, influence peddling and bribery.
