Prosecutor No-Show Delays Mitroshina Hearing to Dec. 4 in Moscow

The delay comes with parallel financial pressure, including a tax authority bid to declare her bankrupt for roughly 211 million rubles set for review on January 14.

Overview

  • The Tverskoy District Court could not begin the case because the prosecutor failed to appear and rescheduled the session for December 4.
  • Mitroshina is charged under paragraph "b" of part 4 of Article 174.1, with investigators alleging she obtained over 127 million rubles and laundered part of it by purchasing Moscow real estate.
  • An earlier tax nonpayment case under part 2 of Article 198 was closed after partial repayment, while her lawyers say she has fully repaid more than 200 million rubles and is cooperating with investigators.
  • She has been under house arrest since March 10 with bans on internet and mobile use and on contacting case participants, and the measure was extended in September.
  • Separately, the Moscow Arbitration Court accepted an FNS bankruptcy petition seeking about 211 million rubles and set a January 14 review after courts upheld the tax assessment and penalty.
