Prosecutor Appeals Dismissal of Alec Baldwin Manslaughter Case

Special prosecutor Kari Morrissey has filed an appeal to reverse the dismissal of Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter charge, arguing the judge misunderstood the case.
The original case was dismissed in July due to prosecutorial misconduct, including the withholding of key evidence, and the judge ruled charges could not be refiled.
Baldwin, who denies profiting from the film, waived his fee and gave financial proceeds to Halyna Hutchins' family as part of a settlement agreement.
'Rust' premiered at a Polish film festival last week without Baldwin in attendance, and no U.S. release date or distributor has been announced.
Halyna Hutchins' family remains critical of Baldwin, accusing him of refusing to apologize and unjustly benefiting from the tragedy.
