Stephens, a Transgender Woman and Vocal Advocate for LGBTQ+ Rights, Faces Serious Allegations Involving Two Minors

Prominent Philadelphia LGBTQ+ activist Kendall Stephens, 37, has been charged with raping two minors under the age of 13.
The alleged incidents reportedly occurred in September and Stephens was arrested and had a preliminary arraignment in Philadelphia Municipal Court on Monday.
Stephens, who identifies as a transgender woman, has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and protections in Philadelphia and has worked with lawmakers on these issues.
Stephens gained prominence in 2020 after being the victim of a hate crime, which led to her advocacy for hate crime laws to include LGBTQ+ individuals as a protected class in Pennsylvania.
Stephens' bail has been set at $500,000 and her next court hearing is scheduled for December 29.
