Malayalam actress Honey Rose filed a police complaint accusing businessman Boby Chemmanur of making repeated sexually coloured remarks both in person and on social media.
Chemmanur was arrested in Wayanad by a Special Investigation Team and transported to Kochi, where he faces non-bailable charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and IT Act.
The actress revealed the allegations on social media, leading to widespread cyberbullying, prompting her to thank Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the police for their prompt action.
Chemmanur has denied the allegations, claiming his interactions with the actress were friendly and not inappropriate, while legal proceedings continue.
The Kochi Central Police have also registered a case against 30 individuals for posting offensive comments under Honey Rose’s social media posts, with one person arrested so far.
