Progresar Opens Second Registration Window With Imminent Deadlines

A second digital call lets 16–24‑year‑olds who missed the first round apply for limited, conditional support while debates over the frozen benefit continue to grow.

Overview

  • The government and ANSES reopened a second online window for Becas Progresar and Progresar Obligatorio closes on Friday, Sept. 4, with Progresar Superior and Progresar Enfermería closing on Sept. 11 and Progresar Formación Profesional on Nov. 27.
  • The scholarship is set at a nominal $35,000 per month and is paid 80% up front ($28,000) with 20% ($7,000) retained and released later after the student’s academic attendance and requirements are certified.
  • To apply candidates must be registered through the official Becas Progresar portal or Mi Argentina/Mi ANSES, sign in with their CUIL, and provide a bank account (CBU) or virtual wallet (CVU) in their name.
  • Selected Progresar Obligatorio recipients will receive support for up to six months conditional on maintaining school regularity and meeting academic and health requirements, including age limits and a family income cap equal to three minimum wages.
  • Student groups and university unions are pressing for a recalculation of the frozen grant, arguing the present payment leaves many short; the dispute could shape near‑term budget and education funding talks and how many applicants remain eligible after evaluation.
