  • Profeco invoked Article 7 Bis of the Federal Consumer Protection Law and NOM-160-SCFI-2014 to seal the JAC Aguascalientes dealership and halt its commercial activity pending compliance.
  • A July 8 verification visit prompted by citizen complaints confirmed that the dealership did not use adhesion contracts registered with Profeco when selling vehicles.
  • Inspectors found that the outlet omitted visible display of total maintenance service prices, including taxes, commissions, interests and other charges.
  • The suspension was executed by the Aguascalientes Consumer Defense office led by Carlos Pliego under the directives of Profeco chief Iván Escalante Ruiz.
  • Profeco has pledged ongoing monitoring of the dealership’s adherence to transparency rules and offered phone, social media and email channels for consumers to file further complaints.
