Overview
- The three-day operation runs Sept. 14–16 across Mexico, led by the Dirección General de Verificación with support from 38 Odeco offices and orientation points in high-traffic commercial areas.
- Inspections target a wide range of businesses, including supermarkets, abarrotes, butcheries, restaurants, bars, discotheques, tortillerías, panaderías and public parking facilities.
- Teams will check that prices are clearly displayed, promotions match what is advertised and all stated terms, tariffs, interests, charges and quantities are honored.
- Profeco reiterates that merchants must issue receipts, cannot deny or condition service for discriminatory reasons and must offer warranties of no less than 90 days when applicable.
- Inspectors will test calibration of scales and time-recording devices, and serious irregularities can trigger partial suspensions or immobilization; consumers may report issues via the Teléfono del Consumidor (55 5568 8722, 800 468 8722) or Profeco’s official X and Facebook accounts.
