Profeco Logs 103 Buen Fin Complaints, Recovers MXN 484,366 for Shoppers

Profeco reports quick conciliations with continued oversight through the sales period.

  • The consumer agency provided about 8,625 advisories through 38 consumer-defense offices and the Consumer Hotline in the first two days.
  • Of the 103 complaints received, 98 were conciliated on the spot, one remains in process, and a small number lacked data, failed to conciliate, or fell outside Profeco’s remit.
  • Clothing and footwear led complaints with 17 cases, followed by televisions/screens with 12, while failure to respect advertised prices and promotion noncompliance were the top causes with 23 each.
  • Mexico City registered the most complaints with 25, followed by the State of Mexico with 13, with additional cases reported across several states.
  • Profeco reports 3,772 in-store price tags placed, 20,065 products monitored on sales floors, and 1,077 online ads reviewed with 107 potential violations identified, leading to eight corrections and ten removals.
