Profeco Issues Consolidated Recall for 2,308 GM, Ford and Volvo Vehicles

The consumer watchdog is contacting vehicle owners to arrange free inspections, software updates or part reinforcements through authorized dealers or remote service channels

Overview

  • The unified recall merges separate alerts first issued between March and June by General Motors de México, Ford Motor Company and Volvo Car México into a single advisory covering 2,308 vehicles
  • General Motors de México is recalling 932 GMC Sierra 2022 pickups for a potentially loose grille deflector, 262 Chevrolet Camaro 2020–2022 units for transmission valve wear, and 153 Cadillac Lyriq 2024 models for intermittent driver-display failures
  • Ford Motor Company’s recall calls for software updates on 612 Maverick 2022–2024 trucks to restore rear-light functionality and on four Mustang 2023 cars to correct a miscalibrated steering sensor
  • Volvo Car México will issue remote or dealer-based software patches to 345 hybrid and electric 2025 XC60, XC90, XC40 and C40 models to prevent temporary brake deactivation when descending slopes
  • All inspections and repairs are provided free of charge, with GM and Ford campaigns open indefinitely and Volvo’s running through December 2055, and owners can verify VIN status via brand websites or hotlines
