Many "No Kings" protests were held across the country, including this one outside the Michigan Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, on June 14, 2025.

Overview

  • Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a 39-year-old fashion designer and former Project Runway contestant, died after being struck by a stray bullet at the protest.
  • Organizers say the volunteer, described as a trained safety marshal, fired three shots at Arturo Gamboa after he allegedly brandished an AR-15 near the crowd.
  • Gamboa, 24, was arrested on murder charges despite not firing his rifle and was treated for a minor gunshot wound.
  • More than $205,000 has been raised on GoFundMe for Ah Loo’s wife and two children and community vigils have honored his memory.
  • No charges have been filed against the volunteer and the district attorney has asked the public to await completion of the investigation.
