Pro-Palestinian demonstrators stormed a Christmas party held by Michigan Democrats, leading to a brawl that left an elderly female partygoer hospitalized.
The protesters were there to confront Rep. Shri Thanedar, who had renounced his membership in the Democratic Socialists of America over its support of a Times Square rally deemed 'hate-filled and antisemitic'.
Partygoers forced the protesters out of the venue after requests for them to leave were ignored.
The representative targeted by the protesters, Thanedar, was later awakened at 3 a.m. by pro-Palestinian protesters in front of his home.
Michigan, home to more than 300,000 residents of Arab descent and 90,000 Jews, has seen tensions rise over the Israel-Hamas conflict.
