- Latest finance reports show the top pro-Frey PACs have raised about $1.6 million through Oct. 20, on top of nearly $1 million for Frey’s campaign.
- All of Minneapolis has taken in roughly $1.2 million from developers, unions, the Minneapolis Regional Chamber and Lyft, with allied groups We Love Minneapolis at about $309,000 and Thrive MPLS receiving $130,000 from All of Minneapolis.
- A newer pro-Frey committee, Safer Hennepin, has raised about $162,000 and has sent mailers attacking Fateh.
- Progressive-aligned PACs report smaller hauls, with Mpls for the Many at nearly $352,000, including $70,000 from Movement Voter Project and $52,500 from TakeAction, and the Working Peoples Project at $278,000, largely from out-of-state donors such as Omer Hasan ($100,000) and Mohammad Javed ($40,000).
- The contest has drawn wider attention after a clip of Fateh waving a Somali flag went viral and drew Republican criticism, as Fateh, DeWayne Davis and Jazz Hampton press a ranked-choice alliance ahead of the Nov. 4 election with all 13 City Council seats also on the ballot.
