Private Security Guard Mistakes Elderly Homeowner for Burglar, Shoots Her

The security guard, 34-year-old Kaion Ciego, was responding to a burglary alarm at the woman's home.
Ciego was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm and is being held on $1.115 million bail.
The woman was shot once in the torso and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
Ciego's attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, stated that he thought the homeowner was not at home when the alarm went off and mistook her flashlight for a weapon.
