Private Sector Adds 183,000 Jobs in January, Surpassing Expectations

The service-providing sector led job creation with 190,000 new positions, while manufacturing shed 13,000 jobs.
Medium-sized businesses contributed the most to job growth, adding 92,000 positions in January.
Pay for workers who stayed in their jobs increased by 4.7% annually, while job changers saw a 6.8% pay increase.
The ADP report precedes the Bureau of Labor Statistics' upcoming nonfarm payrolls report, which is expected to show a smaller gain of 170,000 jobs.
