Overview

  • Northampton Crown Court sentenced Aimee Duke, 26, to a year in prison on Tuesday after she admitted two counts of misconduct in public office.
  • Two additional misconduct charges were ordered to remain on file after she denied them at a hearing in May.
  • Investigators said CCTV showed her entering cells without a professional reason and appearing on wings where she was not rostered, and she took a personal bag onto a wing in breach of rules.
  • Police who arrested her at work on September 23, 2022 seized her phone and found extensive messages with prisoners, including “I want us to be together 100%” and “I can’t wait to see you.”
  • Duke is the third officer convicted for similar conduct at HMP Five Wells since its 2022 opening, following cases involving Toni Cole and Rachel Stanton.
