Princess Sofia of Sweden Welcomes Fourth Child, a Baby Girl

The Swedish royal family celebrates the birth of a daughter, the ninth grandchild of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

Princess Sofia, 40, and Prince Carl Philip, 45, announced the birth of their fourth child, a daughter, at Danderyds Hospital in Stockholm.
The baby girl, weighing 3,645 grams and measuring 49 centimeters, is the couple’s first daughter after three sons: Alexander (8), Gabriel (7), and Julian (3).
Prince Carl Philip expressed joy over the new addition, noting that the couple’s sons are excited to meet their baby sister.
Princess Sofia previously shared in an interview that the pregnancy was a surprise but described the baby as a welcomed 'bonus.'
The newborn is the ninth grandchild of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf, 78, and Queen Silvia, 81.
